Baradarane Leila (Leila’s Brother) Movie Screen in Iran

Some media outlets and the press have made points that express some concern about the non-distribution or censorship of this film after participating in the Cannes Film Festival, to be screened in Iranian cinemas.

Nasser Sohrabi, a cinema expert, said in this regard:

Saeed Roustaie’s career, with the small number of films he has produced, has shown that he is progressing step by step, and in his new film, “Leila Brothers”, we will surely encounter new stories and ideas of this young director.

To obtain a production license, filmmakers must first submit their scripts to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and obtain a license.

The filmmaker is also obliged to make the film according to the same script.

The possibility of tension between the cinema organization and the agents of the movie “Leila Brothers” and preventing its distribution or excessive censorship

If the film “Leila Brothers” fails to obtain a license or parts of it are removed, it will definitely have bad consequences for Iranian cinema; Especially now that it has reached the international section of one of the largest festivals in the world and is to be reviewed.

If we are to maintain the domestic and international market together and win valuable prizes, we must change our view and align ourselves with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

The filmmaker is licensed in this country, the film is made in Iran and everything is Iranian; So we have to adhere a little more to the rules and regulations of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
